Why we started

Most labour hire problems are avoidable

Bluestone started with a plain observation. Site managers were not short of labour hire companies. They were short of ones that checked tickets, confirmed names the night before, and told the truth when a job could not be filled.

So we built the business around those three things. Every worker's documents are sighted before they are offered to a client. Every booking is confirmed the evening before. If we cannot cover a request, we say so immediately rather than leaving you waiting on a pre start that nobody turns up to.

Bluestone is owned and run in Melbourne by Fayaz Bahadori. We supply civil contractors, warehouses and factories across the metropolitan area and Geelong, and we keep to that work rather than trying to staff every industry at once.

How we run it

Four rules we do not bend

Confirmed the night before

A worker booked for 6am is called the evening before. If they cannot make it, we cover the gap before your start time.

Sighted, not assumed

White card on the register, right to work, high risk licences, ABN and insurance for contractors. Checked before the first booking, not backfilled after.

Paid properly

Casuals are paid under the award with loading and super. Contractors are paid on the terms agreed up front. Nobody waits on a late invoice to get their wages.

A straight answer

If we cannot fill the order we tell you now. If a worker is not right for the site we deal with it the same day.

Licensed and insured

In Victoria a host must only use a licensed labour hire provider. You can check our licence on the Labour Hire Authority's public register in under a minute.

Insurance$20 million public liability insurance. Contractors hold their own public liability as well.

LeavePlusRegistered with LeavePlus (formerly CoINVEST) for portable long service leave. Quarterly service returns lodged for construction industry workers.
